For most city commuters, the NQiX 150 (45 km/h, ~70 km range, AM licence) is the easiest entry — narrow, app-connected, NFC unlock, removable battery. If you want the same package at a lower entry price without TFT or NFC, the NQi Sport (€1,999) covers the same use case. Riders with an A1 licence and longer routes step up to the NQi GTS (€2,499, 80 km/h, 110 km range).

For daily commutes inside the city, the NQiX 150 and NQi Sport are the sweet spot — both 45 km/h, both fit the AM licence in most EU countries. For mixed inner-city / 50–80 km/h roads with longer distances, the NQi GTS or NQiX 300 (120 km range) are stronger picks. Both run dual battery packs you can charge separately at home or work.

The NQiX 300 has the longest catalogue range of the entire NIU lineup at ~120 km on a single charge, with an 80 km/h top speed and dual battery setup. For longer touring at highway-capable speeds, the NQiX 500 (100 km/h, ~100 km range, ABS) and FQi 500 (95 km/h, ~100 km range) step up. From Model Year 2026 the NQiX 500 even accepts a third battery pack.

The NQiX 300 leads the lineup at ~120 km per charge. The FQiX 150, FQiX 300 and NQi GTS follow at ~110 km. NQiX 500 and FQi 500 reach ~100 km, and the BQi 200 Utility e-bike claims up to ~95 km. Real-world figures vary with rider weight, terrain, speed and temperature.

The XQi 500 Street tops the lineup at 110 km/h, designed for off-road performance riders with an A1 licence. The NQiX 500 follows at 100 km/h, then the FQi 500 at 95 km/h. Most A1 road scooters (NQiX 300, FQiX 300, NQi GTS) sit at 80 km/h.

The NQi Sport (€1,999) is the most accessible entry — no manual gear shifting, 45 km/h AM-licence-friendly, simple app integration, removable battery you can carry indoors. For riders who want a more modern dashboard and NFC unlock at a still-friendly price, the NQiX 150 is the upgrade.

NIU's off-road family is the XQi line: XQi3 Street (45 km/h, 75 km range, AM licence) for entry-level off-road fun, XQi 400 Street (45 km/h, 100 km range, AM licence) for longer off-road touring, and XQi 500 Street (110 km/h, A1 licence) for performance off-road. All XQi Street models are road-legal.

The NQi GTS at €2,499 with 110 km range and A1 top speed of 80 km/h delivers the strongest range-per-euro in the road-scooter lineup. Among kickscooters, the KQi 300 at €699 with 65 km range is the value leader.

The three NQiX models cover three different licence and use-case tiers — same connected platform, different powertrain:

• NQiX 150 — AM licence, 45 km/h, ~70 km range, €2,699. City scooter.
• NQiX 300 — A1 licence, 80 km/h, ~120 km range, €3,599. Long-distance commuter, dual battery.
• NQiX 500 — A1 licence, 100 km/h, ~100 km range, €4,499. Flagship 125cc-class with ABS, dual battery, optional third pack from MY26.

All three include the NIU App, NFC unlock and TFT display.

Both are A1-licence, ~100 km range, around 95–100 km/h top speed. The NQiX 500 (€4,499) is NIU's flagship — sportier ride, ABS, TFT display, NFC unlock, dual battery. The FQi 500 (€3,799) is the more classic / premium-cruiser option — same dual battery, app integration, removable batteries, but without TFT or NFC. Pick NQiX 500 for sport-styled performance and connected features; pick FQi 500 for cruiser comfort at a lower price.

Both are AM-licence, 45 km/h, ~70 km range. The NQi Sport (€1,999) is the value entry with app and removable battery — clean and simple. The NQiX 150 (€2,699) adds a TFT display, NFC unlock and modern styling. Choose NQi Sport if you want the lowest entry point; choose NQiX 150 if you want the smart-key and dashboard experience.

Both are A1-licence, 80 km/h, ~110–120 km range, dual battery. The NQi GTS (€2,499) is the value pick — proven commuter platform, TFT display, App. The NQiX 300 (€3,599) adds NFC unlock, a newer design language, and slightly more range (120 km). If price matters most, NQi GTS. If you want the modern smart-key experience, NQiX 300.

All three are road-legal off-roaders with the App, removable batteries, TFT display and NFC unlock. The differences:

• XQi3 Street — AM licence, 45 km/h, ~75 km range. Entry-level off-road.
• XQi 400 Street — AM licence, 45 km/h, ~100 km range. Longer off-road touring on the same licence.

NIU's KQi kickscooters and the BQi 200 Utility e-bike fall under the German eKFV class (or its national equivalent in other markets). They require no motorcycle or moped licence — typically only a minimum age and basic insurance plate where required.

AM-class NIU scooters are 45 km/h moped-class two-wheelers — often rideable on a car licence with regional add-ons. A1-class NIU scooters reach 80–110 km/h and need a light motorcycle licence. eKFV-class NIU vehicles (KQi kickscooters, BQi e-bike) are 20–25 km/h electric kick scooters / e-bikes with no licence requirement in Germany. Always check the exact licence rules for your country.

ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) is currently fitted on the NQiX 500 (€4,499, 100 km/h flagship) and the FQiX 300 (cruiser, 80 km/h). Both are A1-licence models. Other models use NIU's CBS or front/rear disc brakes depending on the configuration.

The NQiX 500 leads on safety equipment in the lineup: ABS, App-based anti-theft alerts, dual-battery redundancy, TFT display with riding info, NFC key support. The FQiX 300 also includes ABS at a more comfort-focused riding position. Across the off-road range, the XQi 500 Street pairs high-performance brakes with the NIU App's security features.

NIU specifies range using the WMTC city cycle on most models, the European reference test for two-wheelers. Real-world range depends on rider weight, terrain, speed, temperature and accessory load — expect 15–30 % variation from the catalogue figure under typical conditions.

Most NIU road scooters and off-road bikes use removable batteries you can lift out and charge indoors at a household socket — including NQiX 150, FQiX 150, NQi Sport, NQiX 500, NQiX 300, FQiX 300, FQi 500, NQi GTS, XQi3, XQi 400, XQi 500. The BQi 200 Utility e-bike also has a removable battery. KQi kickscooters have integrated batteries that are charged on the vehicle.

Charging time depends on the model, battery configuration and charger. Most NIU scooter batteries reach a full charge from a standard household socket in roughly 4–8 hours; dual-battery models can charge both packs in parallel using a second charger.
